"We want to relate our pleasure in moving my mother from Sandpiper Village to Sandpiper Courtyard. Like many other relatives, we had a decision to make for my 98 year old Mother, who had been at Sandpiper Village since 1994, and needed additional help as she aged. I had visited the Courtyard with my brothers, and talked to Sheena Janse about the facilities and was given a tour. Sheena took the time to answer our questions and explain what Mom would receive and how much it would cost. We decided to make the move, and like most people Helen was resistant to change. She was happy living at the residence, and wasn’t thinking positively about the move. We took Mom over to see the Courtyard, and began to talk it up to her, emphasizing the positive. When it was time to move, we moved her furniture over to her new room, I stayed with Mom at her residence until everything going over was set up. I then took Mom to the Courtyard to see her new room. It was just after five in the evening when we arrived, and Mom had not had dinner. So when we walked in, I talked to the first employee I saw, mentioning that Mom was moving over and asked if it was possible for Mom to get something to eat? The employee said, “is that Mrs. Ciucci?” That made both Mom’s day and mine! The employee guided Mom to a table, obviously already the planned table for her. At the table was one of her oldest friends from the residency, and they began talking like it was just yesterday they had last seen each other, instead of years. Sue and I just want you to know what an excellent job Sheena did in making sure Mom’s room was ready, and her employees knew Mom was coming and met her with courtesy and a smile. The move couldn’t have gone smoother, and as a result, Mom is happy in the Courtyard. We had constant contact with Sheena during which time she answered our questions competently and immediately, she couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. She is a wonderful asset to your company!"
